Information

Print information

The prints are available as a high quality Giclée, Digital Ultrachrome or Lithographic print. Each reproduction is part of a limited edition and is individually signed. The editions are kept small making them more exclusive and collectable.

Sizes of prints in the Gallery are given in inches, height x width. All sizes given are approximate. We do not offer a framing service.

Giclée prints

Giclées are the best quality prints that can be bought. They are individually printed on to fine art paper. Only specialised pigmented inks are used which give the remarkable colour saturation that one would expect of a painting.

To create each Giclée print the image is sprayed onto the paper at the rate of one million droplets of ink per second giving a continuous tone result. This is a slow technique which produces prints that are rich in colour, with a flawless texture that matches the feel of the original. Distinguishing one from an original can be very difficult.

Digital Ultrachrome prints

The printing process is similar to that of Giclées although faster. Digital Ultrachromes are printed onto digital paper using light-fast inks.

Lithographic prints

Lithos are standard prints and the inks are not light-fast. The entire edition is printed in one session onto coated paper. The plates are then destroyed.

A selection of Lydia’s originals are available to view on the website in a dedicated Gallery.
